Job summary

Atlas Search is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Reporting Associate to support the preparation, analysis, and delivery of financial statements and regulatory reports. You will work with accounting, finance, and regulatory reporting teams to ensure accuracy of financial information, compliance with applicable standards, and on-time reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 1–4 years of accounting/financial reporting experience; banking experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting fundamentals.
• Proficient in Excel; experience with ERP/GL systems is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze financial data, reconciliations, journal entries, and schedules.

A well-established banking institution is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Reporting Associate to support the preparation, analysis, and delivery of financial statements and regulatory reports. This individual will work closely with the accounting, finance, and regulatory reporting teams to ensure the accuracy of financial information, compliance with applicable accounting standards, and adherence to reporting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Prepare and analyze financial data, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Support the preparation and submission of regulatory reports in accordance with applicable banking regulations and reporting requirements.
• Perform variance analysis to identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and explain fluctuations in financial results.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with accounting, treasury, risk management, and other internal departments to obtain and validate financial information.
• Assist with the implementation and enhancement of financial reporting processes, systems, and controls.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to information requests.
• Research accounting and reporting issues and assist with the application of relevant accounting standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-4 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or a related role; banking or financial services experience is preferred.
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP and fundamental financial reporting principles.
• Familiarity with financial statements, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with financial reporting systems, general ledger platforms, or ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines.
• High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, reliable financial information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preparing regulatory reports for a bank or other financial institution.
• Familiarity with banking products, balance sheet accounts, and financial services operations.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
