Job summary

Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Financial Program Enrollment Coordinator to support families in pursuing affordable homeownership. You will be the first contact for prospects, conduct initial intake, assess eligibility, and guide applicants through the program process.

You will also assist Partner Families with case management, track progress toward closing, and coordinate with the Family Services team to ensure successful homeownership outcomes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Expertise in credit, debt, and financial management, including budgeting and savings strategies, preferred.
  • Capable of managing projects, processes, deadlines, and budgets with urgency and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct orientation sessions for prospects seeking homeownership opportunities.
  • Respond to inquiries about homeowner programs via phone, email, and walk-ins.
  • Coordinate sweat equity with Partner Families, construction, and ReStores.
  • Track and prepare monthly sweat equity reports and progress toward closing.
  • Monitor HUD homebuyer education completion.
  • Case manage Partner Family files and collect income/asset documentation monthly.
  • Assist applicants in completing loan applications using applicant management databases.
  • Review applications and documentation to determine eligibility.
  • Provide updates on application status to applicants.

Financial Program Enrollment Coordinator

$20 - $22/HR; Compensation based on experience

Full-Time, Hourly/Non-Exempt, M-F 8 am-4:30 pm, Evenings & Weekends as needed

Job Summary:

The Financial Program Enrollment Coordinator (FPEC) will support families in need of decent and affordable housing solutions by serving as the first point of contact for prospects seeking assistance for all homeownership programming. The FPEC is responsible for conducting initial application intake, managing the application process, and assessing eligibility for MHFH homeownership programs. Additionally, they provide support to the Family Services department through case management of approved Partner Families and tracking their progress towards closing of their MHFH home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct orientation sessions for prospects seeking homeownership opportunities
  • Respond to inquiries about MHFH homeowner programs and services via phone, email, and walk-ins
  • Establish and maintain regular communication with Partner Families, MHFH construction department and ReStores to coordinate sweat equity
  • Track and prepare monthly sweat equity reports, ensuring PF progress towards closing
  • Track HUD homebuyer education completion
  • Case manage Partner Family files for accuracy through the monthly collection of income and asset documentation
  • Assist applicants in completing their loan applications using applicant management databases.
  • Collect, review, and evaluate prospective homeowner applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility based on MHFH program requirements
  • Follow up with applicants and provide updates on their application status accordingly
    Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
    • Valid driver’s license, with good driving record (travel within service area is required).
    • Expertise in credit, debt, and financial management, including budgeting and savings strategies, preferred
    • Capable of managing projects, processes, deadlines, and budgets in alignment with organizational policies and procedures, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
