Financial Planning Specialist

Corporate Finance - Budget & Planning Division

Albany, NY

The Financial Planning Specialist is the highest-level analyst position within the Corporate Finance department and reports to the Assistant Director of Financial Planning. The Specialist will provide high level financial and reimbursement analysis for Albany Medical Center stakeholders. This role requires a strategic thinker, an analytical mindset and desire to develop their expertise in healthcare finance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. High level financial planning analysis and reimbursement modeling.
2. Support the preparation of the annual patient revenue budgets.
3. Detailed reimbursement analysis and rate distribution.
4. Support of the regulatory reporting including surveys and cost reports.

Desired Skills/Abilities:

1. High level Microsoft Excel knowledge including pivot tables, IF functions and lookups.
2. Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multi-task.
3. Healthcare finance and/or accounting background.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics and / or Statistics.
2. Minimum of three years of experience in healthcare, finance or other related field.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
5. Strong communication skills, written and oral.
