Financial Planning Assistant

A highly respected Chartered Financial Planning practice in East Sussex is seeking a talented Financial Planning Assistant to join its growing team.

This is a rare opportunity to join a genuinely client-focused business that has designed this role as a long-term development position for someone who is ambitious about building a career in financial planning.

Unlike many Financial Planning Assistant positions, this role offers extensive exposure to clients, advisers and the financial planning process from day one. You will work closely with a team of experienced Financial Planners, supporting client relationships, preparing for meetings, contributing to financial plans and developing the technical and interpersonal skills required to become a successful Financial Planner in the future.

The Opportunity

The business operates a collaborative team structure, supporting multiple Financial Planners rather than being assigned to a single adviser. This provides excellent exposure to a wide range of client situations, planning strategies and financial planning disciplines.

You will be encouraged to play an active role throughout the client journey, gaining valuable experience that extends well beyond administration.

Career Progression

This position has a clearly defined long-term development pathway to take you to Chartered Financial Adviser status in 5 years.

The firm is committed to supporting professional development and ongoing qualifications for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Financial Planners with client servicing activities
  • Preparing for client review and new business meetings
  • Assisting with client onboarding and ongoing relationship management
  • Communicating with clients via telephone, email and written correspondence
  • Helping to build and maintain financial plans using Voyant
  • Working alongside advisers to develop recommendations and planning solutions
  • Liaising with providers and third parties
  • Ensuring client records and documentation remain accurate and up to date
  • Contributing to a consistently high level of client service across the business

Desirable
  • Experience using Voyant or similar cashflow modelling software

  • Ongoing mentoring from experienced Financial Planners
  • Broad involvement across administration, client support and financial planning
  • A collaborative and supportive team environment
  • The opportunity to become a future Financial Planner within the business
Working Arrangement

This is a predominantly office-based position in Lewes, East Sussex. The firm believes that close collaboration, mentoring and client exposure are key to long-term development, although occasional flexibility for home working may be available on ad-hoc basis when required.
