Job description

Employment Type: Permanent / Direct-Hire

Job Location Type: Onsite

The Financial Planning Analyst will join an award-winning San Francisco Bay Area organization in a role that offers real ownership and growth. If you’re someone who’d energized by fast, thoughtful decisions, high standards, and turning numbers into clear next steps, this role will certainly keep you engaged. This is a great fit for someone coming from public accounting, consulting, transaction advisory, banking, or corporate finance who wants to apply modeling skills inside an operating business.

The Financial Planning Analyst will support a broad range of financial planning and analysis activities inside a multi-site, consumer-facing organization that blends service, experience, and recurring revenue, with expansion initiatives that create interesting analytical work. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will collaborate closely with senior finance leaders across the organization, as well as cross functional budget and operational managers. This means real, impactful influence on decision making through insight and storytelling.

This Financial Planning Analyst will work in one of the country’s most dynamic regions, where career opportunity and lifestyle are both real advantages. Weekends can mean beaches, trails, iconic parks, and quick trips to wine country or mountain towns, and weeknights still have great food, live music, and pro sports. The area offers top universities, a deep talent market, and a strong economy that rewards ambitious builders, which makes a career path in industry finance especially compelling.

Primary Responsibilities

The Financial Planning Analyst will be the person who turns data into decisions, connecting operational drivers to financial outcomes through strong FP&A fundamentals and sharp communication.

  • Build and refine forecasting and budgeting models that connect key drivers to performance outcomes
  • Own variance analysis and deliver clear, executive-ready narratives on what changed, why, and what to do next
  • Create scenario models and sensitivity analyses to support growth initiatives, investment decisions, and performance improvement
  • Develop KPI dashboards and recurring reporting packages that help leaders manage the business in real time
  • Partner with Accounting to align actuals, strengthen data quality, and improve reporting accuracy
  • Support strategic projects, including transaction-adjacent analysis and post-initiative tracking to measure results
  • Improve planning processes through automation, documentation, and continuous workflow enhancements
  • Collaborate with budget owners to strengthen financial discipline, assumption quality, and decision-making cadence
  • Contribute to team development by sharing best practices, mentoring where needed, and raising analytical standards
Preferred Experience and Qualifications

A strong Financial Planning Analyst here combines technical modeling ability with business partnering confidence, and enjoys solving open-ended problems with imperfect data.

  • 2+ years of experience in analytical finance, FP&A, corporate finance, transaction advisory, consulting, investment banking, or valuation work
  • Advanced Excel proficiency with comfort building models from scratch and stress‑testing assumptions
  • Solid grounding in financial statement analysis and the ability to connect results to operational drivers
  • Experience producing forecasts, budgets, variance analysis, and management reporting in a deadline‑driven environment
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to present insights to non‑finance stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a closely related field
  • Curiosity, ownership mindset, and a track record of improving processes rather than accepting the status quo
Benefits and Compensation

This Financial Planning Analyst will join a team that supports healthy habits, professional growth, and time to recharge, with a package designed to make onsite work feel worth it.

  • Competitive compensation with bonus and equity potential
  • Health insurance options for eligible employees
  • Paid time off
  • Professional development and continuing education support
  • Lifestyle‑focused perks and discounts tied to services and amenities
  • Opportunities to give back through community involvement initiatives
