Job summary

Wakefern Food Corp. is seeking an FP&A Analyst to join the Financial Planning and Analysis Department in New Jersey. You will perform financial forecasting, budgeting, P&L analysis for the Transportation Division, and support cost optimization initiatives.

You'll collaborate with Finance and Transportation teams, drive periodic reporting, and identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and analytics to improve decision-making and process efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting/analysis experience required.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and TM1.
  • Experience leveraging AI, automation, or advanced analytics tools to improve processes.
  • Ability to work a varied, flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Create the fiscal year budgets for Food Haulers, NTS, and 7 Logistics departments.
  • Analyze and prepare period end P&L reports for all the areas listed above.
  • Forecast transportation costs for new sites including Wholesale customers.
  • Prepare select monthly journal entries.
  • Work with accounting team to reconcile any discrepancies found.
  • Work with Vice President of Transportation on any special projects.
  • Forecast current year expenses and income for Transportation departments.
  • Reviews accuracy of the Transportation Division General Ledger.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation by identifying opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and advanced analytics to enhance business processes, reporting, and decision-making.

About You

As a member of the Financial Planning and Analysis Department, the FP&A Analyst will work with Wakefern Finance and Transportation divisions. This associate will perform financial forecasting, scenario planning, budgeting, and P&L analysis related to Wakefern’s Transportation Division.

  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to build relationships across divisions and navigate Wakefern to find answers to important questions.
  • Advanced proficiency with computer operating systems and Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and TM1.
  • Experience leveraging Microsoft Copilot, AI, automation, or advanced analytics tools to improve financial planning, reporting, decision-making, and business processes.
  • Availability to work a varied, flexible schedule to meet business demands
Additional experience considered a plus
  • MBA or Master’s Degree in relevant field
  • Knowledge of TM1 Analytics and SAP
  • Experience with FP&A tools

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000 annually. Placement in the range depends on several factors, including experience, skills, education, geography, and budget considerations.
