Job summary

Popular, Puerto Rico’s leading financial institution, seeks an experienced Analyst Advisor to assess clients' financial situations and craft strategies that address life-cycle needs and goals.

You will meet with clients, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and build strong relationships while guiding them through investments, insurance and retirement planning for better outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in business administration with concentrations in accounting, economics, finance or financial planning.
  • CFP, MBA, CPA, JD or related designations preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience with financial products, insurance, taxes and related regulations.

General Description

Analyze the financial situation of a client, through a holistic approach, to identify risks and opportunities and develop the financial strategies needed to help clients to achieve their needs and goals.

  • Meeting with clients and use the financial planning methodology to advise and assist them on how to achieve their financial objectives, considering their life cycle stage, actual financial situation, and needs. Increase customer relationships, services, products, and profitability.
  • Offer advice in an integrated manner, through the collaboration of work teams composed of employees from different specialties or lines of business of the Bank and other Popular companies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships of trust and loyalty.
Education

Bachelor’s in business administration with concentration in: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Financial Planning. Risk Management or Law.

Certifications/Licenses

Preferably CFP, MBA, CPA, JD and/or other financial planning, investment or insurance related designations and licenses.

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of experience with financial products and services, insurance business, business development, taxes, laws, regulations and state and/or federal regulations that govern the financial industry.

  • Availability to attend, during and outside regular working hours, activities, presentations, and other initiatives of interest to customers.
  • Identify problems, analyze their causes, and solve them in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Knowledge and mastery of MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Mastery of English. Excellent oral and written communication, both in Spanish and English
