Job summary

HUB International is seeking a Financial Operations Associate to support the operations department with accounting tasks and business analytics. The role requires accurate data handling, reporting, and adherence to company policies and GAAP principles.

Responsibilities include variance analysis, producer payable audits, and preparation of management reports, with opportunities to handle cross-department coordination in a growing global firm based in Nashville.

Qualifications

• College degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Required Experience: Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
• Required Travel: Negligible
• Required Education: Some college (no degree)

• Perform producer payable audits, resolve errors, prepare and distribute monthly reports to specified payees.
• Prepare and analyze periodic and ad-hoc business management reports per management specifications.
• Assumes responsibility for researching, tracking, and resolving accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
• Monitor premium finance agreement submission process to ensure timely funding.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication with Company personnel and management.
• Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.

SUMMARY:

The Financial Operations Associate is responsible for providing a variety of operational accounting tasks and business analytics in the operations department. Must be able to accurately compute, report and verify numerical data in a professional and knowledgeable manner, ensuring adherence to company policies and general accounting principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform and report comparative periodic budget to actual variance analysis for specified branches and/or region.
• Perform producer payable audits, resolve errors, prepare and distribute monthly reports to specified payees.
• Prepare and analyze periodic and ad-hoc business management reports per management specifications.
• Assumes responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or properly referring) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
• Perform recommended business management systems audits.
• Monitor premium finance agreement submission process to ensure timely funding.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication and coordination with Company personnel and with management.
• Maintains regular contact with other departments to obtain and convey information and/or to correct transactions.
• Assists Accounting Department personnel as needed.
• Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
• Other related duties as required or assigned, which depending on the organizational structure of a regional Finance Department, may have some limited team lead responsibilities as it relates to accounting principles, procedures and reconciliation problems.
