Job Details: Job Location: Resource Center - New York, NY, Salary Range: $50251.98 - $55000.00Salary/year, Intro/Program Description: Goddard Riverside's Resource Center programs are in Central and West Harlem. The Resource Center helps low-income individuals and families’ access and receive entitlements, benefits, and resources. The Resource Center also offers an array of services including, but not limited to, benefits screening, financial counseling, legal consultation and referrals to support services in the community and city wide. Purpose of Position: The Financial Mobility Case Manager (FMCM) provides case management focused on helping individuals and families address financial barriers, stabilize immediate needs, and build long-term economic resilience. The position assesses client needs, connects clients to benefits and supportive services, and develops individualized financial stabilization plans in coordination with Resource Center staff, NYLAG Financial Counselors, and community partners Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm Salary Range: $50,251.98-$55,000 Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties :

• Roles, Responsibilities and Essential Duties 1) Client service Conduct comprehensive financial assessments following warm handoffs from Resource Center staff to identify barriers affecting household financial stability. Identify immediate financial crises requiring intervention, including loss of income, benefit interruption, rent arrears, utility shutoffs, debt concerns, or other financial barriers. Complete government benefits applications to help stabilize clients and maximize available resources. Connect clients to benefits, housing support, workforce resources, financial counseling, and other community resources based on identified needs. Develop individualized financial stabilization and mobility plans based on each client’s needs, goals, and barriers. Educate clients on budgeting, banking, savings, credit, debt reduction and financial goal setting. Provide ongoing financial case management focused on behavior change, goal achievement, and financial resilience. Advocate with agencies, providers, and community partners to help clients resolve financial barriers and access needed service Promote client autonomy while maintaining confidentiality and providing culturally responsive, client-centered services. Receive and review Resource Center referrals and warm handoffs to determine urgency, financial barriers, and next steps. Coordinate with Resource Center staff, NYLAG Financial Counselors, and community partners to support client engagement and service connection. Other duties as assigned.
• Outreach & Education Recruit clients through outreach, presentations and community events. Assist in organizing and facilitating workshops on benefits, financial capability and available resources.
• Data & Compliance Document services, referrals, financial goals, stabilization activities, and client outcomes in accordance with program standards and outcome reporting. Participate in supervision, quality improvement, and training.
• Resource Center Team Member Attend staff meetings, community meetings, case conferences, training programs and supervision meetings. Work as a member of an active team and respond with flexibility to a fluid and evolving program environment Assist in maintaining program office space and assist clients who visit the office.

Qualifications/Educational requirements

Associate degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Business, Financial Counseling or related field; OR High School Diploma/GED with 2–3 years of relevant case management and/or financial counseling/coaching experience. Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Excellent communication, motivational interviewing and relationship-building skills. Strong knowledge of public benefits and entitlement programs required. Experience working with vulnerable populations in a community-based setting. Ability to multi-task & work in a fast-paced environment. Strong critical thinking, organization and documentation.

Ability to lift 30lbs.
