The U.S. Secret Service in Washington, DC is seeking a Financial Management Specialist in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Management Division.

You will process financial source documents for payment and record transactions in the agency’s financial system. Key responsibilities include examining, certifying, and documenting payments, managing imprest funds, travel obligations, vendor payments, and internal controls, while ensuring compliance with laws and agency policies.

Qualifikationen

• Must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone—no substitution of education for experience.
• This position requires a Top Secret security clearance.
• Open under the 'Fed Transition' hiring path.

Aufgaben

• Examine, certify, and document payment actions, including pre-audit and post-audit processes.
• Manage imprest/confidential fund program, purchase card program, and third-party draft program with internal controls.
• Perform complex financial analysis involving travel obligations, relocation expenditures, vendor payments, IPAC transactions, travel card activity, abnormal balances, advances, receivables, and reconciling transactions.
• Represent the Branch Chief in meetings, briefings, and internal engagements, collaborating with CFO leadership to improve travel management framework.
• Review financial documentation for completeness, validity, proper authorization, supporting documentation, accounting accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
