About the Position

Serves as the Business Systems Financial Analyst for the Northwestern Division (NWD). The work provides operational duties in a wide range of analytical and evaluative work such as program analysis, metrics and budget analysis, custom report writing, management process and information system integration. Primarily focused and an integral part of the Regional Hydropower mission at the intermediate command level.

Specialized Experience

One year of specialized experience which includes

  1. Applying knowledge of financial database systems, software and Automated Data Processing (ADP) policies and procedures in order to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of operations;
  2. Applying knowledge of system software to determine the source of failures and define alternate system approaches to solve automation and database problems;
  3. Analyzing financial systems to determine design changes required to implement the systems.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
