Base pay range

$63,800.00/yr - $82,938.00/yr

Duties

• You will formulate budget and cost estimates to support plans, programs, and activities.
• You will review and evaluate budget requests, control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
• You will perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with accounting systems.
• You will analyze, forecast, and interpret functions associated with the management and control of resources or funds.
• You will track and control funds for special programs.
• You will perform analytical or program work pertaining to payroll, cash control, or benefit systems.
• You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and prepare summaries for use by managers.
• You will develop, determine, and interpret budgetary policies and practices.

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  
  

Qualifications

GS-09

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing budgeting or financial management functions (e.g. formulating budgets, reviewing or evaluating budget requests, or budget execution) and developing reports to provide budgetary recommendations ensuring the financial objectives of the organization are met.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR

Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree

OR

Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230. Pay retention may be granted when certain conditions are met.
