Starr, a global leader in commercial insurance, seeks an experienced Underwriter for the Financial Institutions team in the New York region. You will underwrite new and renewal business, build broker and client relationships, and apply sound underwriting judgment to FI risks.

Responsibilities include evaluating D&O, EPL, FID, E&O, and Crime & Fidelity risks, maintaining files, and collaborating with partners to drive profitable growth. 1–3+ years in underwriting preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or related field.
• 1-3+ years of direct underwriting experience in financial institutions or financial lines.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in relevant underwriting platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.

Aufgaben

• Solicit, evaluate, and underwrite new and renewal D&O, EPL, FID, E&O, and Crime & Fidelity property business from diverse sources.
• Analyze submitted documentation per underwriting standards; request additional information when necessary.
• Prepare and present quotation terms and conditions to brokers and clients within authority.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal partners to drive portfolio growth.
• For risks outside authority, submit referrals with recommendations to approval authority.
• Maintain comprehensive file documentation per procedures.
