Job summary

US Fertility is seeking a Financial Educator (Remote) to guide patients through benefits, coverage, and financial options. You will perform benefit verification and prior authorization tasks and provide ongoing financial education throughout care.

Requirements include 2–4 years in a medical office, understanding payer remittance, and a Bachelor's degree preferred. OB/GYN exposure is a plus; strong communication and MS Office skills are essential. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of medical business office experience, with working knowledge of healthcare billing and collections, insurance/benefits, and patient interaction
• Must read and understand payer remittance advice, differentiate allowed charges, contractual adjustments, denials, and patient responsibility
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Experience in an OB/GYN office is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating with departments, employees, physicians, managers, patients, and insurers
• Strong written and oral communication, independent work, detail-oriented, computer savvy
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• High level of customer service is essential

Opportunity Overview

We have an immediate opening for aFinancial Educator Remote to join our team at Shady Grove Fertilityin Richmond, Virginia.

• Schedule:Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern Time
• Compensation:$23.00 to $27.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

In this role, the Financial Educatorwill:

• Consult with patients regarding their benefits, coverage and financial options
• Perform aspects of benefit verification and prior authorization
• Provide ongoing financial education and assistance to our patients throughout the continuum of their care, as an educator, advocate, and liaison
• Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal financial and insurance information

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications and Skills Include:

• Minimum 2 to 4 years of medical business office experience, with working knowledge of healthcare billing and collections, insurance/benefits, and patient interaction
• Must have experience reading and understanding payer remittance advice. Includes the ability to differentiate between allowed charges, contractual adjustments, line item denials/reasons, patient responsibility (co-pay, co-insurance, and deductibles), etc.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Experience working in an OB/GYN office is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills required to communicate with departments, employees, physicians, managers, patients, and insurance companies
• Strong oral and written communication skills, independent worker, detailed-oriented, computer savvy
• Proficient with Microsoft programs, specifically Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
• High level of customer service essential
