Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder, aiming to determine optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability. The team collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure financial improvements. Operating in a fast-paced environment, we utilize cutting-edge analytics to promote data-driven decision making throughout the organization.

Remote Work from Home

Essential Functions

• Seek out new areas of potential improvement through curiosity and detailed analysis, questioning assumptions and driving continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify cost savings, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create reports, and communicate savings to leadership.
• Mine data using SQL to discover trends, analyze causes, and advise on potential improvements.
• Create automated performance reports in Power BI to communicate metrics and identify areas for operational improvement.
• Ensure data completeness and accuracy by working with Operations to understand business processes and with IT to understand data storage and processing.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency with Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Strong financial modeling skills and understanding of business impacts on financial statements.
• Proven ability to generate business results from data insights.
• Passion for analyzing large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Ability to make and communicate recommendations to senior management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Corporate Finance, Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred.
