Financial Data Analytics Business Partner - REMOTE

Job Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on Ryder's fleet of 150,000 vehicles. The team develops strategies to maximize profitability, collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions, and measures financial improvements. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team utilizes advanced analytics to promote data-driven decision making across the organization.

Essential Functions

• Seek out new improvement opportunities through data analysis and root cause investigation, questioning assumptions and striving for continuous improvement.
• Partner with business units to identify cost-saving opportunities, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create performance reports, and communicate savings to leadership.
• Mine data using SQL to identify trends, analyze profitability, and advise on potential business actions.
• Create automated reports in Power BI to visualize performance metrics and highlight improvement opportunities.
• Ensure data integrity by collaborating with Operations to understand business processes and with IT to understand data management.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI; working knowledge of R, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling and the impact of business actions on financial statements.
• Proven ability to leverage data insights to drive business results.
• Passion for analyzing large datasets and collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least four years of relevant experience, ideally in Corporate Finance, Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Engineering.

The role offers a salary range of $80,000 to $100,000, with benefits including health coverage, paid time off, and a 401(k).
