Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder. The team determines optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability and collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure financial improvements. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team utilizes cutting-edge analytics to promote data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

Remote Work from Home

Essential Functions

1. Actively seek out new areas for potential improvement, drill into details to find root causes, question assumptions, and drive continuous improvement.
2. Collaborate with business partners to identify cost savings, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create progress reports, and communicate savings to senior leadership.
3. Mine data using SQL to discover trends, determine causes, and advise on potential business actions.
4. Create automated reports in Power BI to communicate performance metrics and highlight areas for improvement.
5. Ensure data accuracy and completeness by working with Operations to understand business processes and with IT to understand data storage and processing.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
• Working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Advanced financial modeling skills and understanding of how business actions impact financial statements.
• Proven ability to drive business results through data insights.
• Passion for analyzing large data sets and collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Ability to make and communicate recommendations to senior management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• At least four years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred.
