Summary

The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder, aiming to determine optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability. The team collaborates with Operations leadership to implement solutions and measure the financial improvements resulting from these actions. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team utilizes advanced analytics to promote data-driven decision making across the organization.

Essential Functions
  • Actively seek out new areas of potential improvement, analyze details to identify root causes, question assumptions, and pursue continuous improvement.
  • Partner with business units to identify cost-saving opportunities, model impacts on P&L, assess risks, create progress reports, and communicate savings to senior leadership.
  • Use SQL to mine data, discover trends, analyze profitability changes, determine causality, and advise on potential business actions.
  • Create automated dashboards and reports in Power BI to communicate performance metrics and highlight areas for operational improvement.
  • Ensure data completeness and accuracy by working with Operations to understand business processes and with IT to understand data storage and processing.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Advanced understanding of financial modeling and the impact of business actions on financial statements.
  • Proven ability to drive business results through data insights.
  • Passion for uncovering solutions in large datasets and collaborating with stakeholders to improve outcomes.
  • Ability to provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or related fields.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • At least four years of relevant experience, preferably in Corporate Finance, Statistical Analysis, or Transportation Industrial Engineering.

Compensation

The offered salary depends on experience, education, location, and market factors. It may include bonuses, commissions, or incentives. Range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually.
