Base pay range

Schedule

• Monday/Wednesday: 12pm - 9:30pm EST
• Tuesday/Thursday: 6am - 6pm EST
• Friday: 11am - 7pm EST
• Saturday: Rotation possible once a month or as needed

Purpose of Position

The Financial Counselor meets with potential applicants, educates them on Title IV eligibility, and provides tools for informed decisions, all while delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include counseling students on financial aid, application procedures, costs, indebtedness, money management, and personalized financial planning. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and confidentiality are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial aid assistance to prospective and enrolled students.
• Support compliance and maintain financial aid programs.
• Assist Veterans with VA Benefits Applications.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with policies.
• Support clerical tasks for Financial Planning leadership.
• Counsel students on financial aid options and payments.
• Collaborate with staff to meet departmental goals.
• Respond to student and parent inquiries regarding financial aid.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Post-training, develop skills to handle dual calls effectively by 90 days.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Associate/Bachelor’s preferred or equivalent experience
• 2+ years customer service preferred
• Financial aid experience is a plus but not required
• Proficiency in MS Office, internet navigation, database systems
• Salesforce experience is a plus

Physical & Cognitive Demands

Must listen and communicate effectively, analyze paperwork, move about, maintain cognitive focus, and lift up to 25 lbs. Accommodations available for disabilities.
