Job Description
Verifying benefits and eligibility for financial determination on all OR and cosmetic procedures by contacting both medical and dental insurance plans for every patient.
Once benefits are determined, compile a detailed letter to advise the patient of their financial responsibility prior to the procedure. Contact the patient and assist in payment arrangements or collection at least 7 to 10 days before the scheduled procedure.
Adhere to Corporate Compliance Guidelines and demonstrate knowledge and compliance with the Hospital Safety and Infection Control policies as required by OSHA and the Patient Safety Program.
Adhere to all Jefferson Policies and Procedures.
Verify benefits and eligibility requirements for all OR and cosmetic procedures by contacting both medical and dental coverage for each patient.
Submit predetermination of benefits to dental insurances.
Obtain necessary precertification and referrals for all OR and cosmetic procedures.
Compile a detailed letter to advise the patient of estimated financial responsibility prior to the procedure.
Contact the patient and assist in payment arrangements or collection at least 7-10 days prior to the procedure.
Communicate with OMFS Residents regarding all inpatients scheduled for extractions in the OR.
Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the hospital.
Education:
High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
Experience: Preferred at least 3 years in a high-volume surgical office. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. IDX and ORSOS experience preferred.
