Qualifications

  • Knowledge of NM Procurement Code and SHARE Financial is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute State Warrants and Payment Advices to vendors.
  • Create Payment Vouchers for the Department of Health ASD.
  • Distribute Payment Vouchers to Auditors and reconcile State Warrants.
  • Assist with reconciliation of State issue Payment Card and related tasks.

$38,885 - $58,327 Annually

New Mexico Department of Health is to ensure health equity, we work with partners to promote health and well-being and improve health outcomes for all people in New Mexico. This position is in Administration Services Division/General Accounting Bureau responsible for assisting auditors, creating variety of payment vouchers/approvals to internal/external entities and adhering to State/Federal Rules/Regulations & the NM State Procurement Code.

To assist the General Accounting Bureau in processing payments for both employees and vendors conducting business with the Department of Health.

How does it get done?

This position is responsible for distributing State Warrants and Payment Advices to appropriate vendor. Creating Payment Vouchers for Department of Health ASD. Distribute various Payment Vouchers to Auditors. Ensure reconciliation of State Warrants, process Warrant Cancellations. Manage and reconcile State issue Payment Card. Assist with other related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualification

High School diploma or Equivalency and six (6) months experience in bookkeeping, office administration, auditing, accounting, and/or finance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer to include working with computers, faxes, copiers and printers, and phone usage with extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, kneeling and crawling. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Some travel may be required.

Bargaining Unit Position

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to.
