Job Description

As a Financial Controller, Analyst on the Emerging Markets team, you will focus on the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the Firm’s books and records, with an emphasis on reconciling Front to Back positions and P&L. You will own product level balance sheet reconciliations, inter-entity controls & validations, and work closely with management to support the monthly accounting cycle.

The Emerging Markets group supports clients in regions including the United States, London, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay. This role offers high exposure to management and involves working closely with the business and partner groups to support operations.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Perform reconciliation and controls for various lines of business within the Corporate & Investment Bank, such as Currencies & Emerging Markets, Rates, Credit Trading, Securitized Products, Equities, and Risk.
  2. Collaborate with line of business controllers, middle office, business managers, technology, and operations.
  3. Understand trading activities, booking models, product configurations, and trade economics to apply accounting policies and improve control frameworks.
  4. Ensure process integrity impacting books and records at month, quarter, and year-ends.
  5. Support business initiatives and projects, becoming a financial control subject matter expert.
  6. Identify discrepancies proactively.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  2. At least 1 year of experience in Accounting.
  3. Basic knowledge of accounting (General Ledger).
  4. Critical thinking and intellectual curiosity.
  5. Professional behavior and work ethic.
  6. Strong technical skills, especially Excel.
  7. Basic understanding of financial products such as stocks, bonds, loans, derivatives.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities
  1. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Spanish.
