Job summary

Renoun, remote-friendly finance leader for a fast-moving outdoor company, seeks a candidate ready to grow into director-level responsibilities including investor relations, corporate restructuring, and financial strategy. You will guide forecasting, reporting, and strategic plans across the organization.

You will lead the internal accounting function, manage cash flow modeling, and work with cross-functional teams to align finance with growth initiatives, including a C-corp transition.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA favorably considered.
  • 4-5 years of experience in financial statement development or general ledger accounting.
  • Experience with cash flow management, reporting, and monitoring.
  • Experience with financial modeling.
  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • 2-3 years of experience with a 1st or 2nd tier CPA firm a plus.
  • Passion for the outdoor industry and general knowledge of the ski industry.
  • Open to remote candidates; preference for those based in Vermont, New England, or Salt Lake City.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on financial leadership across forecasting, projections, and accounting operations.
  • Lead and act as the internal accounting department, managing the relationship with our outside accountant and bookkeeper while preparing strategic growth plans.
  • Manage the financial process of converting Renoun from an LLC to a C-corp.
  • Manage and forecast cash flow weekly using a rolling 13/15-week projection.
  • Develop and manage a yearly cash flow model to identify capital needs in advance and finalize annual budgets, adjusting no less than quarterly.
  • Align financial management with organizational strategy to support company-wide objectives.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Manage inventory control through ongoing forecasting across sales, factory orders, and third-party vendor needs.
  • Develop inventory financing solutions using viable sources, including private debt and A/R financing.
  • Create a functional A/R process covering membership dues and other A/R related to membership, B2B (retail/wholesale), and private club sales.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, cost savings, and systems improvement.
  • Forecast capital, staffing, and facility needs, and secure funding as necessary.
  • Manage A/P and vendor payments, including building an optimized, automated invoice management process.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage investor relations and evaluate investment opportunities, including our upcoming crowdfunding initiative with StartEngine, expected to go live in September 2026.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Stay current with financial regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate across business units to achieve company goals.
  • Drive topline growth forecasting. Work cross-functionally to translate how the product roadmap will impact financial results.
  • Identify the strongest growth opportunities across markets and acquisition channels.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and insightful financial reports, analyses, and forecasts, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Proactively identify structural, system-wide opportunities and risks before they surface in the numbers.
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams driving growth (product, marketing, and membership) to develop and track execution plans against goals.
