Seven Executive Limited seeks an experienced Financial Controller to own the finance function within a growing manufacturing business. Based in Powhatan, Virginia, you will report to the General Manager and lead two accountants while shaping financial strategy.

You will manage month-end close, budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and US GAAP reporting, partnering with CPA firms and external stakeholders to drive growth and operational excellence.

Formación

• 5–10+ years of experience in finance and accounting.
• Experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager ready to step up.
• Background in manufacturing, engineering, or capital equipment businesses.
• Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting.
• Experience with job costing and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• ERP implementation or transition experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Proactive with a commercial mindset to grow with the business.

Are you an experienced Financial Controller looking for an opportunity to take ownership of a finance function and play a key role in a growing manufacturing business?

We are currently partnering with our client to recruit a Financial Controller based in Virginia.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business, taking responsibility for the financial operations across the US and Canada, while working closely with the General Manager and contributing to the company's continued growth.

The Role

As Financial Controller, you will lead the site's finance function, overseeing two direct reports (a Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant) and taking ownership of all key financial activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
• Preparing and maintaining budgets, forecasts and management accounts.
• Overseeing cash flow management and financial reporting.
• Managing accrual-based accounting processes.
• Overseeing job costing and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• Working closely with external CPA partners on tax preparation and compliance.
• Managing relationships with banks and other financial stakeholders.
• Ensuring financial systems and processes align with US GAAP requirements.
• Managing and developing a team of two accountants.
• Supporting the wider business with financial insight and strategic decision-making.

What We're Looking For

• Ideally 5-10+ years' experience within finance and accounting.
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller or a high-performing Finance Manager ready to step up.
• Background within manufacturing, engineering or capital equipment businesses.
• Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting.
• Experience with job costing and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• Previous ERP implementation or transition experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience managing and developing finance teams.
