Job summary

BCA, part of the Mpac Group, is seeking a Financial Controller in Newburyport, MA. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Sales and Senior Management to ensure robust financial control, accurate reporting, and strategic decision-making while leading all plant-level accounting and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA are advantageous.
• Manufacturing finance experience; capital equipment or engineering-to-order (ETO) environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash management.
• Experience leading and developing teams; effective stakeholder engagement across levels.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting software; Dynamics is highly desirable.

About The Role

As Financial Controller, you will be the financial leader within the business, partnering closely with Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Senior Management to ensure robust financial control, accurate reporting, and strategic decision-making. You'll oversee all aspects of financial operations while helping drive efficiencies, process improvements, and business performance.

This is a highly visible position offering the opportunity to influence key business decisions and contribute directly to the success of a growing engineering and manufacturing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all plant-level accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning processes.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA and/or MBA qualifications are advantageous.
• Proven experience in manufacturing finance, ideally within capital equipment or engineer-to-order (ETO) environments.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software; Microsoft Dynamics experience is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of the business.
