Job summary

BCA Mpac Group in Newburyport, MA is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer to own the full lifecycle of advanced automation projects—from concept to commissioning and beyond. You will design, develop, and implement control systems, program PLCs and HMIs, and lead FAT/SAT testing while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of controls/automation engineering experience.
• Strong PLC programming (Rockwell preferred).
• Experience with machine vision systems.
• Solid understanding of safety standards and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automation and control systems.
• Create and document process sequences, IO mapping, and system specifications.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, motion systems, and robotics.
• Lead and support FAT & SAT testing, ensuring systems perform flawlessly.
• Troubleshoot and optimize control systems for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Due to rapid growth, we’re looking for an Electrical & Controls Engineer ready to take ownership, solve complex challenges, and play a key role in delivering world‑class automation solutions.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be hands‑on across the full lifecycle of advanced automation systems — from concept through commissioning and beyond:

• Design, develop, and implement automation and control systems
• Create and document process sequences, IO mapping, and system specifications
• Program and configure:
• PLCs (ideally Rockwell)
• HMIs
• Motion systems (including multi‑axis servo)
• Robotics with line tracking
• Lead and support FAT & SAT testing, ensuring systems perform flawlessly
• Troubleshoot and optimize control systems for continuous improvement
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, innovative environment:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in controls/automation engineering
• Strong PLC programming (preferably Rockwell)
• Experience with machine vision systems
• Solid understanding of safety standards and risk assessments
