We’re partnering with an innovative client in the clean energy space that’s redefining how commercial customers manage and optimize their electricity usage. They’re looking for a Controller to help scale their finance operations and support accurate, GAAP-compliant reporting as they continue to grow.

This person will lead the company’s day-to-day accounting activities, streamline the monthly close, and drive continuous improvements across core finance functions. You’ll play a key role in ensuring timely, accurate financials and supporting audit and compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules
• Lead and refine the month-end close process, ensuring timely recognition of revenue and expenses
• Manage accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and internal controls
• Monitor financial transactions and develop reporting using accounting software and Excel
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting, including audit prep and GAAP compliance
• Analyze revenue and cost data related to electricity usage across customer segments
• Develop and maintain close checklists and process documentation
• Collaborate cross-functionally on financial insights, ad hoc analysis, and process improvements
• Research and apply technical accounting guidance as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA and/or Master’s in Accounting preferred
• 7+ years of experience, including public and private accounting roles
• Industry experience in energy strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Excel

Salary range: starting at 170,000 base salary
