Job description

Hirewell is partnering with a growing technology-enabled solutions provider in the Dayton area that is hiring a Controller to lead the accounting function and help strengthen the financial infrastructure of the business.

This is a hands-on leadership role reporting directly to executive leadership. The company is evolving its finance structure and is seeking an experienced accounting leader who can oversee day-to-day accounting operations while also improving processes, strengthening controls, and helping build a scalable finance organization.

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys operating close to the details of the accounting function while also contributing to broader operational visibility and financial decision making.

Location: Dayton area, Ohio

Schedule: Fully onsite, five days per week

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and reconciliations
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
• Establish and maintain internal accounting controls and financial policies
• Monitor cash flow and working capital performance
• Improve accounting workflows and reporting processes within ERP systems
• Manage and develop a small accounting team
• Provide financial insights and reporting to executive leadership

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience with strong financial reporting background
• Prior leadership experience managing accounting staff
• Experience working with ERP systemsStrong knowledge of GAAP and accounting controls
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA preferred

Compensation ranges from $100K to $130K base salary plus a 20% target bonus.
