Controller

Location: Northeast Ohio (100% Onsite)

Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 + Bonus

About the Opportunity

A large, established organization with over $450 million in annual revenue is seeking a Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple accounting functions, partnering with operational leadership, and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and internal controls.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a hands‑on approach to managing a fast‑paced accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals
• Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
• Review financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Oversee accounts payable, payroll, and revenue accounting functions
• Manage cash flow reporting and banking relationships
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision‑making

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA strongly preferred
• Progressive accounting leadership experience
• Experience managing and developing accounting teams
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP, internal controls, and month‑end close processes
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Preferred Experience

• Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or Director‑level experience
• Experience within large, multi‑department organizations
• Exposure to high‑volume transaction environments
• ERP experience, preferably NetSuite
