Job summary

NewCold in Hagerstown, MD seeks a Financial Controller to lead the site’s finance functions with a continuous improvement mindset. This on-site role will report to the Area Controller and may require travel to other locations.

The role manages the control cycle, coordinates reporting, and works with Operations to identify cost-saving improvements while ensuring compliance and timely financial statements.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of accounting and finance experience.
  • 5+ years of controller experience.
  • Warehouse, supply chain or logistics industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the control cycle (AOP, monthly reporting, forecast).
  • Coordinates and submits reporting packages.
  • Monitors the site's financial results and collaborates with Operations leadership team members to identify improvement ideas.
  • Works within different departments to provide guidance, financial expertise and a resource for future growth.
  • Fosters a cost-conscious culture while focused on achieving high levels of customer service.
  • Works with the managers on improvement initiatives to reduce costs.
  • Maintains records in accordance with approved policies, state and federal laws and industry best practices.
  • Maintains the creation of strong internal controls.
  • Addresses finance needs by deadlines.
  • Works with outside service providers (Accounting, Tax, Benefits, etc.) to ensure auditing and compliance requirements are met.
  • Adheres to monthly/annual financial reporting requirements.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management comments.
  • Completes internal reporting and communication as required.
  • Assists with timely and accurate completion of weekly cash flow projections.
  • Assists in the annual budget completion with Finance and Operations.
  • Supports the shared service center regarding recurring accounting transactions and closing process.
  • Reviews accounting records for accuracy.
  • Works with outside finance service providers related to local, regional and national compliance and deadlines.
  • Coordinates the execution of policies with regional office and global headquarters (e.g. taxes, fees, incentives).

Your role as a Financial Controller
Key responsibilities:
Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:
$120,000 - $140,000

This position is eligible for a bonus in addition to the base pay range listed above.
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the salary band within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.

Position Overview

The Financial Controller plays a key role in managing the Finance functions at the site with a continuous
improvement mindset and collaboration with operations. This position is part of the U.S. region, finance
team and reports to the Area Controller. This is an on-site role that will require occasional travel to
other locations.
