Job summary

Katalyst Space Technologies, based in Colorado, seeks an experienced accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, A/P, A/R, payroll, and fixed assets while upholding U.S. GAAP and scalable processes.

Ideal candidate has 3–6 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field, and proficiency with NetSuite and Excel; strong internal controls, audits, and fundraising experience are a plus. Competitive salary and benefits.

WhatYou’llDo

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Prepareaccuratemonthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Maintain and improve scalable accounting processes, internal controls, and financial policies that support rapid company growth.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Program Management to improve financial visibility across programs and purchasing activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, external audits, tax filings, and investor reporting.
• Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of accounting systems, reporting tools, and process automation.

WhatWe’reLooking For

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–6 years of accounting experience, preferably within public accounting and/or a technology, aerospace, manufacturing, or hardware company.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Experience developing internal controls and improving accounting processes.
• Experience using modern ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Your Ideal Background

Preferred

• Experience supporting venture-backed startups or rapidly scaling companies.
• Experience with manufacturing accounting, inventory accounting, or project accounting.
• Familiarity with government contracting, FAR/DFARS, or aerospace accounting requirements.
• Experience supporting annual audits, financial due diligence, and fundraising activities.

Additional Requirements: Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Compensation and Benefits: Your base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. The anticipated salary range for this role is $100,000 - $155,000 annually.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at Katalyst. You will also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of the Employee Stock Option and Equity Plan, as well as a relocation bonus and other discretionary bonuses.
