Job summary

Metric Search is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the accounting function in Austin. Reporting to the CFO, you will own financial reporting, GL, AR/AP, and payroll, guiding month-end closes and ensuring compliance with US GAAP.

You will partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and performance analysis while strengthening controls and reporting processes to support growth and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years in a Controller or accounting leadership role.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and technical accounting principles.
• Experience with revenue recognition and lease accounting.
• CPA or CMA preferred; public accounting/audit experience advantageous.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Strong Excel capabilities and familiarity with ERP/accounting platforms.
• Exposure to regulatory or SEC reporting is beneficial.
• Proven ability to lead accounting teams and improve controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial models and management reporting tools to support operational and strategic decisions.

• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and other financial stakeholders.
• Support complex accounting matters, regulatory reporting and financial statement preparation.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Provide leadership and guidance to accounting team members.
• Work cross-functionally to provide financial insight into business performance and growth initiatives.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will take ownership of the company's accounting operations, financial reporting and internal controls, while playing an important role in financial planning and supporting continued business growth.

• Experience with revenue recognition, lease accounting and complex financial transactions.
• CPA or CMA qualification strongly preferred.
• Previous public accounting or external audit experience advantageous.
• Experience managing budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Strong Excel capabilities and familiarity with modern ERP/accounting platforms.
• Exposure to regulatory or SEC reporting is beneficial.
• Proven ability to manage accounting processes, improve controls and lead finance teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage directly with senior leadership.

Additional Information

• Based in Austin, Texas, with an onsite requirement of five days per week.
