Summary:

In an effort to secure reimbursement for the Hospital, verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification or authorization for Hospital admissions and outpatient procedures.

• Obtains and verifies insurance information provided by the patient, various Hospital departments, and physician offices.
• Manage schedules through timely communication with all customers.
• Manage the pre-registration of accounts for eligibility, benefits, authorization, proper notification practices, and in accordance with CMS and patient access protocols.
• Contacts the insurance company to determine insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Contact patients prior to visit, while in-house, or post discharge to discuss resolution of estimated total liability.
• Performs a complete registration accurately by interviewing the patient or responsible party to obtain personal demographic data, health insurance coverage, nature of visit/symptoms, etc.; simultaneously enters all data into Hospital system.
• Utilizes unbilled reports to ensure that patients' accounts are properly pre-registered and an authorization number has been obtained in a timely manner.

• High School / GED preferred

Pay Range:

$17.00 to $28.65 Based On Experience
