Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Financial Analyst to support the National Security Sector. This role is fully remote within the United States, with an office in Fairfax, VA, requiring occasional visits to the Fairfax location.

Responsibilities include financial reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, month-end close, and collaboration with back-office teams. 2–5 years in Finance and a Bachelor’s degree are required, with DoD clearance potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2–5 years in a Finance role or commensurate experience.
• Foundational understanding of Government Contracting concepts including CAS, FAR, and GAAP.
• Proficient in Excel with pivot tables and formulas; advanced skills are a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to relay information clearly.
• Self-motivated team contributor; eager to learn and grow.
• Familiarity with contract types (FFP, T&M, Cost Type) is helpful but not essential.
• Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

• Support Senior Financial Analyst in managing large programs with multiple task orders.
• Provide foundational analysis of key program drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare data to support program operational reviews.
• Support month-end close including cost accruals and revenue recognition.
• Monitor subcontract spending and assist with voucher approvals.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Contracts, Procurement and other back-office teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing timely and accurate financial reporting deliverables including program trend analysis, variance analysis against budget and prior forecasts and monthly reporting for executive management
• Support Senior Financial Analyst in managing large program with multiple task orders and contribute to quarterly forecasts and annual operating budgets
• Provide foundational analysis of key program drivers, risks, and opportunities
• Prepare data and analysis to support program operational reviews
• Support the program month-end close process including cost accruals, revenue recognition and expense reviews
• Monitor subcontracting spending and assist with subcontractor voucher approvals
• Collaborate with Accounting, Contracts, Procurement and other corporate back-office departments to support program operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills and Experience

Posted Salary Range

USD $60,000.00 - USD $75,000.00 /Yr.
