Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the National Security Sector. This fully remote National role within the United States may require occasional visits to the Fairfax, VA office. Responsibilities include financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and program analysis across multiple task orders.

The candidate should have a bachelor's degree with 2–5 years in a Finance role, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of CAS, FAR and GAAP. U.S. citizenship and DoD clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 2–5 years in a Finance role (Program Finance, Project Control or FP&A).
  • Foundational understanding of Government Contracting concepts (CAS, FAR, GAAP).
  • Excel proficiency (pivot tables, formulas); advanced skills are a plus.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely financial reporting deliverables including program trend analysis and variance vs budget.
  • Support quarterly forecasts and annual operating budgets for multi-task orders.
  • Analyze key program drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare data for program operational reviews.
  • Support month-end close: cost accruals, revenue recognition and expense reviews.
  • Monitor subcontracting spend and assist with subcontractor voucher approvals.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Contracts, Procurement and back-office teams.

Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Financial Analyst to support our National Security Sector. This position will be fully remote within the United States, with the office located in Fairfax, VA. The candidate may have to visit the Fairfax office multiple times a year.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing timely and accurate financial reporting deliverables including program trend analysis, variance analysis against budget and prior forecasts and monthly reporting for executive management
  • Support Senior Financial Analyst in managing large program with multiple task orders and contribute to quarterly forecasts and annual operating budgets
  • Provide foundational analysis of key program drivers, risks, and opportunities
  • Prepare data and analysis to support program operational reviews
  • Support the program month-end close process including cost accruals, revenue recognition and expense reviews
  • Monitor subcontracting spending and assist with subcontractor voucher approvals
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Contracts, Procurement and other corporate back-office departments to support program operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's with 2-5 years (or commensurate experience)
  • - 2-5 years in Finance role (Program Finance, Project Control and/or Financial Planning and Analysis)
  • Foundational understanding of Government Contracting concepts and basic familiarity with CAS, FAR, and GAAP principles
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas); advanced skills are a plus but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relay information clearly
  • Self-motivated team contributor with willingness to learn and grow
  • Familiarity with common contract types (FFP, T&M, Cost Type) is helpful but not essential
  • Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoW security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Exposure to Deltek Costpoint, TM1 Forecasting software, or Cognos Reporting
  • Experience managing OCONUS programs is a plus but not required
  • Active DoW clearance is a plus but not required
Posted Salary Range

USD $60,000.00 - USD $75,000.00 /Yr.
