Summary
Job Description
The Financial Analyst will provide financial and analytical support to Senior Financial Management, Group Logistics Managers, and Logistics Managers.
Essential Functions
- Analysis of unbilled items for license and sales tax prepaid items over customer contract amount.
- Accounts Payable processing for all licensing processing as needed, e.g., lawyer fees for NYC, broker fees NYC, toll vendor refund processing.
- Reconciliation, review, and interpretation of business functions of all licenses prepaid fees including license, title, sales, and personal property tax for coverage area, completing set up of amortization schedule. Analyze setup of amortization of prepaid fees including license, sales tax, and personal property tax to ensure accuracy & liaison with Financial Reporting & HQ Finance.
- Training: Provide financial training to Business Unit staff, including policies, procedures, and financial tools.
- Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance: Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and accurate projection of financials.
- Corporate: Act as Licensing Team liaison with Ryder's Shared Services Center, Ryder's Corporate Accounting group & Tax Departments.
- Make appropriate Accounting decisions when working on projects & system enhancements, maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley controls, and assisting with quarterly audits.
- Assist upper management with special projects and analysis related to vehicle accounting, rebates, and regulatory compliance. Lead process improvement initiatives and develop solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
- Month-End Closing: Include journal entries, variance explanations, and general ledger research to optimize billing opportunities.
- Operational Initiatives: Collaborate with the Director of Licensing Compliance to identify revenue, cost, and productivity improvement opportunities for US, Puerto Rico, & Canada operations.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting: Conduct performance analysis, trending, cost analysis, and reconciliation of vehicle cap run, sales tax accruals, and balance sheet accounts.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in Finance, Accounting, or Operations.
