University of Houston System seeks a Financial Analyst to perform financial analysis activities under general supervision. You will analyze return, depreciation, investment ratios, profit and loss statements, and trends in sales and finance.
Responsibilities include preparing monthly and annual financial statements, ad hoc reports, and reconciling accounting activities. Education-based experience may be substituted for formal education where appropriate; a 4-year degree is preferred.

Under general supervision, performs financial analysis activities. Analyzes return, depreciation, and investment rations; profit and loss income statements; and trends in sales, finance, and other areas of business.
1. Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements.
2. Analyze financial accounting data and documents trends.
3. Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis of reports.
4. Monitor and reconcile FRS accounting activities; prepare entries, modifications and analysis.
5. Assist with maintenance of financial reporting systems and provide technical support.
6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
