The Financial Analyst II is responsible for supporting the organization’s FP&A, financial reporting, month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, planning, and internal management reporting processes. This role gathers, loads, validates, analyzes, and interprets financial and operational data to produce reporting packages, variance explanations, business commentary, dashboards, and financial models used by Finance leadership, business owners, executive leadership, and other internal stakeholders. This position supports enterprise-level reporting across the income statement and balance sheet, including actuals, actual-to-forecast, actual-to-plan, trend reporting, and financial performance analysis. The role may support client-level gross profit reporting, including volume drivers, lives, claims, revenue, cost of goods sold, margin, and client profitability analysis, or department-level operating expense reporting, including vendor analysis, budget and forecast support, department variance reporting, and KPI/dashboard reporting.
This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written). BS/BA and 3+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred experience includes financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting, month-end close support, KPI/dashboard reporting, external audit support, client-level reporting, or related finance and accounting support functions.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience using Hyperion EPM, Oracle EPM Cloud, Hyperion Planning, Essbase, Smart View, or similar enterprise performance management and reporting tools preferred, but not required. Comfortable working with large datasets, financial reporting hierarchies, account structures, departments, cost centers, client-level data, and operational drivers. Ability to build, update, and maintain financial models, reporting packages, dashboards, and KPI reporting. Ability to validate data, tie out reporting outputs, and identify reporting anomalies.

This position works on-site at the San Diego Headquarters or other company location (or from a remote location with management approval based on business requirements). This is a full-time non-exempt position requiring one to be able to work overtime from time to time to get the job done. Therefore, one must have the ability to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. This may be changed at any time to meet the needs of the business. The typical working hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
This position requires no travel; however, attendance may be required at various local conferences and meetings.
