Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Financial Analyst I to support budgeting, reporting and financial analysis across operating, restricted fund and endowment accounts. You will assist with monthly reviews, variance explanations and the preparation of reports for department leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in finance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing monthly budgets, ledgers and grants as applicable, including fluctuation analysis.
• Communicate with accounting staff to obtain variance explanations and ensure revenue/expenses are captured properly.
• Prepare and submit reports, invoices, and follow up with department admins on variances.
• Prepare purchase orders, contracts, invoices, travel requests and vouchers; handle fund transfers as needed.
• Monitor grants, clinical trials and other revenue/expense driven projects and prepare timely reports.
• Input and review staff payroll and record maintenance.
• Assist in monitoring payments by insurance providers to determine revenue streams.
• Perform other related duties.
