Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Financial Analyst I to gather and analyze financial information and prepare reports for administrators and department leadership. The role supports internal control over fiscal activity across operating, restricted, endowment accounts, and other financial activities within the department.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or equivalent) and at least 3 years of finance experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 years of experience in Finance

Responsibilities

• Assists in reviewing monthly budget, fund and general ledgers for the department, including clinical trials and grants if applicable.
• Provides variance explanations and ensures revenue and expenses are captured properly.
• Assists with regular preparation of reports, invoices and follow-up discussions with department administrators over variances.
• Prepares and submits purchase orders, contracts, invoices, check requests, petty cash vouchers, travel requests and travel vouchers.
• Monitors grants, clinical trials and other revenue/expense driven projects and prepares timely reports.
• Assists with transmission of instructions for checks and cash to the main cashier or Finance for deposit.
• Inputs and reviews staff payroll and record maintenance.
• Assists in monitoring payments by insurance providers to determine revenue streams.
• Performs other related duties.
