Job summary

Delaware Department of Transportation is seeking an entry-level Fiscal Advisor to analyze financial transactions, prepare statements, and support budget control under supervision. You will reconcile accounts, maintain audit trails, and assist with data requests for auditors.

Qualified candidates have at least an associate degree in accounting and relevant experience in accounting or auditing. This role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in processing accounting, auditing or payroll transactions.
• Six months' experience in auditing, examining, preparing, analyzing or reconciling financial accounts.
• Associate degree or higher in Accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze financial transactions and records for accuracy and budget adherence.
• Consolidate data to the general ledger from journals and documents.
• Maintain internal controls and apply accounting standards.
• Provide advice and technical guidance on fiscal functions.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for planning and audits.
• Assist auditors with data and documentation requests.
