Job Summary
Financial Analyst I – Supports the Financial Services Division at the US Marshals Service by processing financial documents, ensuring compliance, and maintaining analytical rigor.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Clearance required to obtain Public Trust. Onsite position in Austin, TX 78701.
Responsibilities
- Processes financial documents and transactions from designated Districts using the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS).
- Reviews accounting practices to ensure compliance with federal laws, regulations, the Single Audit Act, generally accepted Government accounting practices, and relevant budget circulars.
- Identifies corrective actions for improper or illegal expenditures and accounting funds.
- Reviews and analyzes annual financial statements to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, program policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrates proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software and possesses general knowledge of financial statements.
Qualifications
- Four-year undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
