Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc. is seeking a healthcare finance professional to perform complex financial analyses and support department budgets and forecasting.

You will work with practice leadership, develop P&L insights, and contribute to business development activities. The role requires strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, the ability to communicate findings clearly, and comfort presenting to executives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in a healthcare finance or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a healthcare finance or financial environment.
  • MBA preferred or equivalent business education welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs financial analyses and analyzes P&L statements to support leadership decisions.
  • Provides financial support for business development and new opportunities.
  • Assists in budget initiatives and forecast models.
  • Maintains and analyzes budget processes and affiliate funds flows.
  • Prepares ad hoc financial requests and reports.
  • Oversees special financial projects as assigned.

SummaryPerforms basic-to-complex financial and business-related analyses to support departmental operating budgets and financial operations, provider productivity and benchmarking processes, business plans, forecasting models, and practice leadership. Ad hoc financial duties as assigned.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerforms financial analysis, analyzes P&L statements, and prepares accurate and timely reporting to enable decision-making by practice leadershipProvides financial support in the business development and assessment of potential new business opportunitiesIdentifies potential opportunities for improvement to internal financial/business processesAssists management with analysis and implementation of financial/business process improvementsSupport financial analysis for Provider Workforce PlanningAssists in the maintenance of the Affiliate Support Funds Flow modelSupports the development and review of departmental and practice-wide budget initiativesPrepare ad hoc requests as assignedOversee special projects as assignedKnowledge – Skills – AbilitiesClear and concise written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsComfortable with presenting analyses/findings to large groups and executive leadershipExperience working with various stakeholders and various levels of managementStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to effectively manage large quantities of disparate informationIntermediate-to-Advanced Microsoft Office Skills including Excel and PowerPointExperience in a nimble, complex financial environmentExperience in financial/business process improvement preferred but not requiredPositive AttitudeWillingness to LearnSees Problems as Opportunities to GrowIdentifies as a Creative Thinker and Self StarterQualificationsAppropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree is requiredMinimum Required Experience: 5 years in a Healthcare Finance or Financial EnvironmentPreferred Education: Master’s in Business AdministrationPreferred Experience: Previous Experience in the Healthcare IndustrySensory AcuityAbility to detect and translate speech or other communication required.
