Job summary

Cabrera Capital Markets seeks a Financial Analyst to support the Controller in accounting duties, including reconciliation, analysis, and process implementation. The role emphasizes program development for trading data and maintaining financial schedules.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in finance, strong Excel and coding skills (Python, VBA), and experience with Oracle; broker-dealer exposure is preferred for this position at a premier investment bank in Chicago.

Qualifications

• 1 year or more years of finance experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), programming (Python, VBA), and data analysis.
• Broker-Dealer experience preferred.
• Experience with accounting software (Oracle preferred).
• Detail and deadline oriented with good time management.
• Experience using project management tools (e.g., Monday.com).
• Ability to multi-task projects.

Responsibilities

• Write and debug programs for processing trading data daily and monthly.
• Maintain bank reconciliations and implement process improvements.
• Support creation and maintenance of accounting schedules (depreciation, lease liabilities, prepaids).
• Manage program usage and assist with resolving errors.
• Assist with connections to external platforms.
• Leverage AI and other tools to develop accounting processes.
• Reconcile firm credit card activity and monthly GL accounts.
• Maintain daily and monthly account reconciliations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
