Job Description Summary

The Financial Analyst, Credit supports the review of the fiscal health of affordable housing sponsors, developers, and guarantors using Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) financing. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment within the Credit team to evaluate financial statements and assess ongoing performance and obligations. The analyst must work collaboratively with Credit Officers, Underwriters, and Asset Management’s Sponsor Support team to manage processes and due diligence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and 2+ years of experience.
  • Experience in auditing or financial analysis of real estate development companies and non-profits preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of LIHTC equity underwriting or real estate feasibility analysis preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • High motivation and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review financial statements and prepare multi-year financial analysis spreadsheets for LIHTC transactions.
  • Identify key financial characteristics, communicate findings, and recommend follow-up actions to Credit Underwriters.
  • Determine appropriate level of analysis based on transaction roles and financial capacity.
  • Review consolidated statements and analyze legal relationships, assets, and liabilities of entities.
  • Follow policies to protect sensitive information.
  • Manage due diligence and handle non-public documents.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
