Job summary

UST is seeking a highly capable Financial Analyst to support financial planning, expense management, forecasting, budgeting, and decision-making across operational and technology portfolios in a dynamic environment.

The Lead I role focuses on developing budgets, tracking expenditures, and delivering executive reports to guide strategic priorities. Strong Excel, FP&A, and ERP experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years FP&A, Financial Analysis, Accounting, or Corporate Finance experience.
  • Experience budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for a department or enterprise.
  • Experience tracking variances and performance metrics.
  • Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Workday or similar systems.
  • Ability to present financial insights to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Monitor operational and project expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Track actual spend vs budget and forecast; perform variance analysis.
  • Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for leadership review.
  • Generate monthly financial outlooks and projections.
  • Monitor project financials including budgets, forecasts, costs, and capex/opex.
  • Collaborate with project managers and business leaders to track financial performance.
  • Work with senior leaders and portfolio managers to understand financial priorities.

You Are

UST is searching for a highly motivated and analytical Financial Analyst to support financial planning, expense management, forecasting, budgeting, and business decision‑making across key operational and technology portfolios.

The Opportunity

  • Monitor project financials, including budgets, forecasts, resource costs, and capital/operational expenditures
  • Collaborate with project managers and business leaders to track financial performance
  • Work directly with senior leaders and portfolio managers to understand financial priorities

What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience Required
  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Financial Analysis, Accounting, or Corporate Finance
  • Strong experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for a department, business unit, or enterprise function
  • Experience tracking and analyzing financial variances and performance metrics
  • Skills & Technical Competencies
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis
  • Experience working with financial systems (SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Workday, or similar platforms)
  • Strong experience in financial planning, budget management, and forecasting
  • Proficiency in variance analysis and cost optimization identification
  • Knowledge & Core Competencies
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Financial analysis and business decision‑making expertise
  • Project financial management and ROI analysis capabilities
  • Understanding of financial compliance, policies, and audit requirements
  • Ability to present financial insights clearly to senior leadership
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or equivalent professional certification
  • Experience in Healthcare or Health Insurance industry
  • Experience supporting IT, Operations, or Project Portfolio financial management
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or advanced reporting tools

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Benefits
  • Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty.
  • They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.
  • They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits.
  • Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines.
  • Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.
