Job summary

UST seeks a Supply Chain Planner to advise management on current and future product supply for existing products and new launches. You will develop capacity-feasible supply plans and coordinate with sites to create short-term production schedules that meet service targets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Logistics and 2+ years of related experience. Strong Excel (pivot, VLOOKUP), analytical skills, and experience with SAP APO or SAP ECC are

  • At least 2 years of professional planning/logistics experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills: pivot, VLOOKUP.
  • Strong analytical and communication abilities.
  • Experience with SAP APO or SAP ECC preferred.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience or certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop capacity-feasible supply plans for manufacturing sites.
  • Collaborate with sites to create short-term production schedules.
  • Run planning scenarios to meet service targets and reduce E&O.
  • Lead long-term capacity reviews with strategic suppliers.
  • Deploy inventory planning strategies to optimize service levels.
  • Support new product launches and changes in planning milestones.
  • Coordinate master data setup in SAP/APO.

You Are:

The planner is responsible for advising management and appropriate internal teams of the current and future status of product supply for existing products as well as for future launches. In addition, the planner is expected to elevate any issues that will impact the organization’s ability to meet customer needs and/or fulfill targeted supply plans.

The opportunity:
  • Scheduling / Plant Production - Develop capacity-feasible supply plans and provide to the manufacturing sites on a prescribed schedule.
  • Collaborate with assigned sites to develop short-term production schedules by taking into consideration site constraints, customer service and inventory targets.
  • Execute planning scenarios in support of meeting customer service and/or inventory targets with a focus on minimizing E&O inventory, as appropriate.
  • Capacity - Handle long term planning for strategic suppliers and participate in supplier capacity reviews.
  • Inventory & Service - Deploy inventory planning strategies to maintain and improve service levels and optimize inventory investment.
  • Actively participate in annual Entitlement activities to set inventory goals.
  • Actively resolve SLOB disposition.
  • New Products & Product Changes - Actively participate in cross-functional team to ensure planning milestones are completed on time and to achieve an appropriate balance between base business and project requirements to ensure customer service and inventory targets are met.
  • Ensure that supply plans are developed (and communicated to the appropriate site) which are achievable, aligned to the project timeline and deliverables and support meeting launch inventory targets, and are inclusive of any promotional activities.
  • Support Master Data setup in SAP/APO.

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What you need:
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, a focus in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Logistics is preferred.
  • Experience and Skills: Required:
  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional business experience is required, preferably in one or more of the following areas: Production Planning, Logistics, Purchasing, Distribution, Manufacturing, and/or Transportation.
  • Microsoft Office - Intermediate to advance skill level is required.
  • Proficiency to utilize Excel charts, pivot tables, VLOOKUP features without coaching/guidance.
  • Handle multiple priorities and work independently while demonstrating initiative and strong analytical savvy.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, decision making, and communication skills.
  • Preferred: Experience in inventory management, SAP APO, or SAP ECC
  • Experience with Six Sigma / LEAN / Process Excellence tools and/or certifications
  • Project management experience and/or certification
  • APICS certification

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Compensation Range: $42,000-$63,000
Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
