Job summary

California Nurses Association/National Nurses United (CNA/NNU) seeks a Finance & Accounting Analyst for a temporary, onsite role in Oakland, CA. The analyst will support financial operations, reporting, and compliance across CNA/NNU and affiliated entities, partnering with accounting leadership to deliver insights and assist audits.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of producing monthly and quarterly reports, journal entries, and ad hoc analyses.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
• Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience with fund accounting or multi-entity environments preferred
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements and prepare detailed reports
• Conduct financial research and trend analysis to support budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end close processes
• Lead and contribute to ad hoc financial analysis projects
