Job summary

Johnson Matthey is seeking a Financial Analyst in Devon, PA to support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning for plant cost centres. You will deliver variance analysis and cost reporting, while partnering with operations and finance to identify trends and opportunities for improved performance.

The role requires a university degree and professional accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA or equivalent), with strong experience in manufacturing finance and a solid grasp of production costing

Qualifications

  • University degree qualification and a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in management accounting, cost analysis and financial planning within manufacturing.
  • Understanding of production costing, variance analysis and financial performance drivers.
  • Ability to challenge constructively, influence stakeholders and provide actionable business insights.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience within the chemicals, automotive or related industrial sectors would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning activities for plant cost centres, including headcount and people costs.
  • Provide timely variance analysis, cost reporting and forecasting insights throughout the month-end close process.
  • Deliver clear management reporting on production and overhead costs, including Monthly Operating Report submissions.
  • Partner with plant operations and finance stakeholders to identify trends, risks and opportunities through detailed analysis.
  • Review production costs, standard cost allocations and cost variances to support improved business performance.
  • Build strong relationships across operational, commercial and technical teams to support accurate financial reporting.
