Job summary

Venteon Finance is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst for a leading manufacturing company in the Detroit area. This role supports the Corporate Finance organization with technical accounting and SEC reporting, maintaining GAAP-compliant records and supporting Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 controls.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting, 2–4 years of experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with advanced PC proficiency to drive accurate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 2–4 years of experience in accounting/financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.
• Self-starter with attention to detail and ability to complete projects start-to-finish.
• Advanced PC proficiency.
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical accounting research and assist in preparing accounting memoranda.
• Assist with analysis and implementation of new accounting standards and internal controls.
• Participate in the preparation of financial statements and footnotes for quarterly and annual SEC filings.
• Assist with completing Sarbanes-Oxley – Section 404 testing.
• Analyze and tie-out reports from third-party service providers (pension/OBEP, goodwill impairment, etc.).

This position is responsible for supporting the Corporate Finance organization's technical accounting and SEC reporting activities. Maintain records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Requirements of the Financial Reporting Analyst

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 2 – 4 years of experience in Accounting/Financial Reporting
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial statements.
• Self-starter with an attention to detail and an ability to complete projects start-to-finish.
